Perception: Android vs iOS

Perception is reality. And considering the increase in Android users taking over the mobile phone market it would make sense that Apple is beginning to get a bit of an unwanted perception. To consumers Apple creates redundant and overpriced phones and make unnecessary changes just to make a few extra bucks. Recent changes to the universal Apple chargers to accommodate the iPhone 5’s are a great example of techniques used by Apple to force consumers to make what used to be a pointless procurement.

This puts the easy-to-use, seemingly consistent, and wallet-friendly Android devices at a perceptive advantage. By simply staying the course and not making an obvious attempt at exploiting their consumers dollar to the fullest extent it seems they may have gained a bit of the market. According to ibtimes.com mobile phone market share in 2012 looked a bit like this:
